Das Rechnungsformat ZUGFeRD 2.1/Factur-X 1.0 ist ab sofort frei verfügbar. Die technischen Spezifikationen basieren auf dem internationalen UN/CEFACT Standard „Cross Industry Invoice (CII)“ und dem ISO-Standard PDF/A-3.
Das „Forum elektronische Rechnung Deutschland“ (FeRD) und das französische „Nationale Forum für elektronische Rechnungsstellung und öffentliche elektronische Beschaffung“ (FNFE-MPE) publizieren damit vollständig kompatible und technisch identische Formate. Somit wird ab sofort der Austausch von elektronischen Rechnungen zwischen Deutschland und Frankreich vereinfacht.
