The venerable professional-strength desktop layout application developer Quark recently announced new support for PDF.
Quark has stated that the latest version of its flagship document authoring tool, Quark Xpress 2016, would include the ability to convert PDF (and Illustrator and EPS) files into native Quark Xpress objects.
Scheduled to ship in Q2 of 2016, the latest Quark Xpress highlights the PDF conversion feature as the first in its list of new features.
