PDF Association: At the PDF Days Online 2021, you will be hosting a presentation titled “Survey of open source PDF solutions” – what’s that about?
Michael Vrhel: There are several open-source tools that exist for rendering and manipulating PDF files. There are significant differences in these tools in terms of licensing, performance, accuracy, and capabilities. I want to provide an overview in many of these categories but really focus on those tools that perform rendering.
PDF Association: Who is your presentation aimed at?
Michael Vrhel: All users who are looking to use open-source tools for their personal use or for their own products.
PDF Association: What will the people who attend your presentation be able to take away from it?
Michael Vrhel: Hopefully, they will have an overview of the PDF open-source landscape and an understanding of the tools that will provide the best fit for their need.
PDF Association: The PDF Days Online 2021 has become the leading PDF event. What makes the PDF Days so unique in your mind?
Michael Vrhel: Bringing together those who have needs for PDF-based applications with those who provide solutions.
PDF Association: Thank you! We look forward to seeing you at the PDF Days Online 2021.
