PDF Association: At the PDF Days Online 2021, you will be hosting a presentation titled “Accessible PDF – How to tag content the right way” – what’s that about?
Klaas Posselt: Years ago, the PDF Association started to develop papers to help people learn how to use PDF tags in accessible documents the right way. We found out, that the PDF standard itself and PDF/UA as well, do not help in all the cases that exist in real world. In my session, I will speak about how to use such guides, in name “Matterhorn Protocol” (updated in 2021) and “Tagged PDF Best Practice Guide: Syntax”, to generate appropriate accessible PDF documents.
PDF Association: Who is your presentation aimed at?
Klaas Posselt: In principle the session is aimed to all people dealing with accessible PDF.
PDF Association: What will the people who attend your presentation be able to take away from it?
Klaas Posselt: Hopefully how to generate easily good accessible PDFs.
PDF Association: The PDF Days Online has become the leading PDF event. What makes the PDF Days so unique in your mind?
Klaas Posselt: PDF is a file format used all over the world and covers a lot of use cases. The PDF Days Online offer a unique possibility to get into several PDF topics – if needed to get good overview about special interested areas, deep dive infos and valuable information about future developments.
