AIIM and the PDF/A Competence Center have announced their cooperation and will promote the worldwide use of the PDF/A standard. More than 200 attendees learned about different aspects of long-term archiving with PDF/A in the specialized sessions presented by PDF/A experts. Adobe Systems GmbH Joins the PDF/A Competence Center

Adobe Systems, inventor of PDF and co-initiator of the new ISO standard PDF/A, joins the PDF/A Competence Center. The members of the PDF/A Competence Centers are focused on both technical as well as conceptual aspects. They contribute actively to the advancement of the PDF/A standard and have representatives on the International Standards Organisation (ISO) committee. The products of the members are mutually tested to ensure high technical quality. PDF/A the Hot Topic at the DMS EXPO

There was standing room only at the lectures on the PDF/A format offered during DMS 2006; the new ISO standard for long-term archiving, PDF/A, was one of the critical topics at this year’s DMS EXPO. The founding members of the PDF/A Competence Center were all present as exhibitors at DMS 2006 and were pleased at the large great number of visiting professionals. Moreover, six companies spontaneously decided to join the PDF/A Competence Center: Actino Software GmbH, atori GmbH, Docucom AG, intarsys consulting GmbH, OPENLiMiT SignCubes AG and PENTADOC AG. To handle the high demand for information and exchange experience on all aspects of PDF/A, the PDF/A Competence Center has now been reorganized as an association.
