Together with experienced computing experts in document creation and output management the company was founded in 1995 by the managing director Uwe Seltmann in Stuttgart.

Project experiences of many years - mainly in the environment of the process-integrated document creation - led to the development of the DOPE product suite in 1999, initially as extension or rather as displacement of the IBM word processing system ASF at major customers.

Since 2001 a lot of well-known companies of the bank and insurance economy handle their correspondence with the DOPE-suite which was developed consistently to a modern development and production platform for all kinds of output. In numerous major enterprises DOPE components are an integral element of ambitious companywide application development projects.

ICON has 40 employees, more than a half of them in the product range. The company is geared to open standards like Java, XML and other recommendations from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). ICON consultants assure the ideal adaptation of the solutions to the customer requirements by analyses in advance and consistent project monitoring and ensure thereby a high customer satisfaction and user acceptance.

The customer base covers more than 50 major enterprises from the financial sector, the services sector and the public administration. Our general importer OUTRANGE from switzerland serves prospective customers and customers outside of Germany.

Core product is the standard software DOPE/Dialog, a process-driven correspondence system with rule-based text modules for the automatic and interactive generation of high personalised business documents (correspondence, policies, contracts, ...). Automatically and interactively generated, personalised correspondence plays an enormous role in an effective customer service strategy. DOPE/Dialog reduces the expenses of designing, programming, and mailing, shortens the time-to-market cycles, increases the correspondence quality and the efficiency of processing.
