3rd International PDF/A ConferenceBerlin at the Kosmos, June 17th – 19th, 2009 The 3rd International PDF/A Conference, organized by the PDF/A Competence Center at the Kosmos in Berlin, features a gathering of the world’s experts on PDF/A. Different tracks are offered, ranging from novice to industry-specific sessions. Furthermore, the PDF/A Competence Center has invited several well-known companies to present a wide range of use cases from different industries. PDF/A WorkshopsThe pre-conference workshops cover special topics around PDF/A like metadata or signatures in PDF/A with experts in each area. The half day workshops in small groups enable detailed discussions and hands on experience. The workshops can be booked separately or combined with the PDF/A Conference. KeynotesStephen Levenson, US District Courts, is one of the initiators of PDF/A and is currently the Judiciary Records Policy Officer in Washington. Stephen is the convener of the ISO PDF/A committee and a member of the AIIM Standards Board of Directors. Leonard Rosenthol, Adobe Systems, serves as the PDF Standards Architect and a senior member of the Acrobat Engineering team, having been involved with PDF technology for more than 10 years. Leonard also serves as the ISO Project Leader for ISO 19005 (PDF/A) and ISO 24517 (PDF/E). Bernhard Zöller, Zöller & Partner, has 25 years experience with electronic archiving and document management. In 1997 he started Zöller & Partner as a neutral, product and vendor independent consulting company. Zöller & Partner are members of AIIM, VOI and the PDF/A Competence Center. PDF/A Tracks
The Thursday afternoon tracks address different areas of PDF/A. Track 1 provides an introduction to PDF/A, and Track 2 discusses legal and compliance issues. Track 3 focuses on the use of metadata in PDF/A. Industry tracks A to D on Friday: On Friday morning, experts and users present industry specific topics. Track A is for the public sector and archives/libraries. Track B covers the engineering and construction industries. Track C focuses on the mass volume processing of documents, e.g. in banks, insurance or telecommunications companies, Track D covers the health care industry. Exhibition
