Frank Biederich is employed by Adobe Systems in Germany.
He is the Engineering Manger for Adobe’s Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP). He manages a team responsible for delivering the XMP technology to most Adobe products, including the Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Reader and Adobe Flash Player as well as enterprise solutions like Adobe LiveCycle. To connect external partner workflows to the Adobe product line the XMP technology is also available as a public and free software development kit as well as the XMP specification, both being used by a variety of industry leading asset management companies and operating system vendors.
As the technical chair of the Metadata Working Group (MWG), a consortium of leading companies in the digital media industry, he is driving the industry towards the goal of a more seamless metadata exchange when working with digital assets across systems. The first specification has been officially released at Photokina 2008.
In his previous position, he was leading Adobe GoLive and Adobe Version Cue development teams always dedicating his time to the problem of organizing, finding and sharing digital content aiming for more seamless user workflows across products and platforms.He has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Applied Science in Hamburg, Germany, where he is located. Beyond business and spending time with his family, he has an interest in photography and cycling (road-race).
